Pre and Post-Care Guidelines

After
Clients can expect skin to become very smooth, soft, and hydrated.

If had undergone exfoliation or extractions, your face may be somewhat rosy for upwards of 1 to 2 hours. It largely depends on the sensitivity of one’s skin. Rest assured that this is quite normal, and you can use mineral makeup to conceal the redness.

Chemical Peel

Before
While chemical peels typically work for most skin types and colors, it is best to check with your esthetician.

If you’re taking acne medication such as Retin-A or Accutane, we recommend you talk to your esthetician and/or doctor first.

Discuss stopping the medication before and during treatment to avoid possible complications. You can also check other about your treatment.

Make sure to be completely honest on your consultation form before the peel. This helps ensure the safety and effectiveness of the chemical peel on your skin.

After
After most peels, clients can expect the skin to be shiny, tight, and look the shade of pink or red.

We urge that you stay out of the sun for a while, as your skin will be very sensitive to UV rays and could be easily damaged. That is why it is vital to apply sunscreen of SPF-30 or higher for a minimum of 48 hours after your treatment.

Expect Peeling
Skin will start flaking within 2 to 3 days after the session, unless an individual has undergone a lactic acid peel. You see, this treatment encourages moisture retention and may not produce any actual peeling.

Expect the sun-damaged areas of the skin to appear darker at first. Rest assured that this is normal and will lighten. Deeper peels will also eventually deliver peeling effects for a week or more.

A light microdermabrasion or enzyme peel can be scheduled a week or so after the initial peel to assist in the removal of flaking skin.

A series of peels is usually recommended to ensure the best results. This is especially necessary for those treating complex issues such as hyperpigmentation.

JET Plasma

Before
The procedure is non-invasive and requires little preparation. You may remove your makeup and come to your appointment with a clean face. Alternatively, you can opt to let your skincare professional remove your makeup for you.

After
Do not do or apply anything to the skin within the first 12 hours after the treatment. This means you should not wear makeup, go to the sauna or steam room, or exercise within this time. After 12 hours, you can resume your normal skincare routine.

Microdermabrasion

Before
Similar to our JET Plasma treatment, this is non-invasive and requires little preparation. You can opt to remove your makeup before coming in for your appointment, or simply leave it on for our staff to remove for you.

After
Your treatment allows for fresh skin to be exposed. During this time, you need to apply sunscreen and avoid direct sunlight and tanning booths right after your session.

Keep away from products containing dyes, perfumes, and harsh chemicals until the skin is healed. Your skincare professional will explain the home care regimen that is right for you and will give you written instructions along with your new routine.

Microneedling

Before
Discontinue all retinol or vitamin A products and avoid sun exposure 24 to 48 hours before your treatment. If you are taking a blood thinner, aspirin, or any other medication that gives you the propensity to bleed, please tell your aesthetician.

If you are under a physician’s care, always consult them prior to your microneedling appointment.

After
The skin may feel warmer and tighter than usual, looking similar to that of an individual with moderate to severe sunburn. You may also see slight redness after 24 hours but only in minimal areas or spots.

During this time, you should avoid products containing harsh chemicals, dyes, or perfumes until the skin has fully healed. Your skincare professional will explain your new home care regimen before sending you off with your new routine and some written instructions.

Before All Treatments

If you are planning to receive Botox or fillers, make sure to give yourself at least two weeks after injections to schedule any aesthetic procedure. This includes mild facials.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is an epidermal resurfacing treatment that removes the top layer of the stratum corneum or the skin. It additionally removes any vellus hair, or what we call peach fuzz, leaving the skin looking radiant and feeling extra smooth.

Will Hair Grow Thicker and Darker After Dermaplaning?

No! The light, vellus hair that you may have on your face will grow back with the same texture and color as it did before. If you have a few coarse, darker hairs, they will come back in the same way.

How Do I Get Rid of Pigmentation?

Sign up for a series of treatments. We offer many services that break down, lighten, and remove unwanted pigmentation. And, as always, we urge you to wear your sunscreen daily!

Does Microneedling Hurt?

No. We use prescription-strength numbing cream to make sure every customer is comfortable from start to finish.

What Do I Bring to My Appointment?

Not much. Just bring your gorgeous self along with the completed forms if you’re a new client.

What Forms of Payment Do You Accept?

We strive to ensure convenience for our clients. That is why we accept various modes of payment such as cash, Venmo, Zelle, and all major credit cards.
